Some parents, at least in TV commercials, draw a heart in their kid's PBJ. Peter Balogh elevates lunchtime art to a higher plane with his brilliant, whimsical, amusing drawings. The method? Freehand drawing with a Sharpie. The medium? His daughter's lunchbags. (He also posts them on his blog.)

Like a lot of things (freedom from responsibility, those adorable green rainboots shaped like frogs that never come in adult sizes), Balogh's lunchbag art makes us yearn to be a kid again. We can't go back in time, but we can, even as adults, enjoy a moment of beauty amid the mundane drills of daily life.

Art is where you find it, whether it's ensconced in a museum or scrawled on a lunchbag. We'll take the lunchbag, please.

As Eva's uncle, I'm delighted every school day with photos of Peter's lunch bags. I'm going to go through withdrawals this summer!

Love it!  How cute is that?  With parents that are completely "hands on", it is no wonder that Eva is always at the top of her class!!  And Alexander not far behind her....
