Skylight Gardens Opening in Westwood
Replacing Gardens on Glendon, Talk of the Town, Will Wright's Ice Cream Parlor and the Hamlet Gardens in Westwood Village, Skylight Gardens soft-opened Feb. 20 and will open to the public on March 1, serving Italian fare from chefs Sebastian Gonzalez (El Bulli) and Raffaele Favuzzi (Pane e Vino, Angelini Osteria). The menu is filled with house-made pastas (gluten-free options available), risotto, chicken, fish and steak. A cheese and charcuterie bar houses sweet salt-cured pork leg, spicy dry-aged pork, smoked duck prosciutto, pecorino brillo di vino, taleggio and a handful of cheeses accompanied by figs, grapes and honeycomb. ![]()
Skylight Gardens
Owners/husband-and-wife team Peter and Miranda Clinco grew up dining at Gardens on Glendon in the early '90s and remember Westwood when it was vibrant and alive, with nearly a dozen movie theaters within a one-mile radius (before the hoards of homeless occupied, we imagine). Peter was a real estate attorney for former owners Harry Lewis and Marilyn Lewis (Kate Mantilini) for 20 years before changing the restaurant concept. "When I was young, my brother Mike and I came here with our parents. This space played a role in nearly every significant period in my life and we will strive to meet the high standard of quality food, service and atmosphere set by our distinguished predecessors," Clinco said in a press release.
