Taco Bell's Doritos Locos Tacos Taste Like Broken Dreams
We were rooting for Taco Bell's Doritos Locos Taco. Honestly we were. We talked it up for weeks in total earnest and even posted a countdown on our Facebook page. Because if somebody gave a green light to a taco shell made out of Nacho Cheese Doritos, an idea we're pretty sure we came up with on the playground in third grade, then what does it mean for the rest of our insane schoolyard fantasies? It means there will be a hoverboard.

But the Doritos Locos Taco is a sham. It is not, as they claim, "a Taco Supreme made with premium seasoned beef, crisp lettuce, diced juicy red ripe tomatoes, real cheddar cheese, topped with cool reduced-fat sour cream, in a shell made from Nacho Cheese Doritos Chips," but merely a Taco Supreme in a shell coated with Doritos Nacho Cheese.
To be fair, it has been a couple of months since we last ate Doritos, and we were probably blitzed when we did. So perhaps we misjudged, and the resemblance to a regular Taco Bell taco shell is purely coincidental. If that's the case then we sincerely apologize. The Doritos Loco Taco is certainly no worse than the traditional Taco Supreme, only it costs $.41 more and tastes ever so slightly of broken dreams.
