McDonald's Debuts the McRibster... In Austria
According to Burger Business, McDonalds' sandwich creation contains "juicy pork, bacon, pepper-Jack cheese, and crunchy iceberg lettuce, red onion, delicious honey-mustard sauce and spicy sweet chili sauce." By the looks of the photos, the slab of pork is breaded, unlike the McRib, which is slathered in barbecue sauce.
Who knows why McDonald's decided to only make the sandwich available in Austria, but based on the list of ingredients, maybe it's best that we keep this thing away from the U.S.
The McRibster is a limited-time-only product in Austria, as all deep-fried pork products should be. Sales will end on March 27. But according to the New York Daily News, the 500-calorie sandwich is readily available year-round in Germany. So if you can't get to Austria before March 27, divert your flight to Germany. No word on whether McDonald's plans to debut the menu item stateside, but the sandwich's page on Facebook is being infiltrated by fans rallying together in support of a free America where we can all enjoy a McRibster.
