This year's L.A. Film Festival kicked off on June 14 with an eclectic lineup of programs and screenings, albeit scant on food films. Luckily the festival's two food-centric films both screen Wednesday night at L.A. Live, so you can make a night of it, save a few bucks on parking, gas, etc.

At 7:50, Michael Voltaggio (ink., ink.sack) will present a screening of Bob Giraldi's Dinner Rush (2000) as part of his tenure as L.A. Film Festival artist in residence. The screening, held at Regal Cinemas 8, will be followed by conversation on food and film, moderated by Evan Kleiman (Good Food). At 9:50, Good Bread, a short documentary about the kitchens of downtown L.A.'s Homeboy Industries, screens at Virgin America Theatre/Regal L.A. LIVE 9.

Tickets available online.
