Chef Jeremy Fox
Well, that was fast. A little more than two months after former Ubuntu and double Michelin-starred chef Jeremy Fox hinted to Squid Ink about the details of his plans for a new L.A. restaurant, Fox has announced the he will be a partner in Barnyard, a small restaurant opening on the corner of Pacific and 18th Avenue in Venice in the old Café Benice space.

The restaurant's name might not evoke the most stylish elements of modern cooking, but Fox assures us that his new menu will be inspired by a collection of past experiences -- rustic, seasonal, shareable plates that incorporate Mediterranean, North Africa, and Southern flavors. The restaurant group hopes to have an opening announcement later this summer.

Previously Fox had been consulting for projects like Freddy Smalls, and the revamped deli menu at Paper & Plastik Café. Barnyard represents the chef's first solo project in Los Angeles.

Barnyard: 1715 Pacific Avenue, Venice.
