Bill Esparza of Street Gourmet L.A.
L.A.-based food blogger and professional saxophonist Bill Esparza, whom you might remember from his L.A. Weekly piece about being a "reverse coyote" for Tijuana food tourists, will serve as guide for Bizarre Food America host and man-who-will-eat-anything Andrew Zimmern as the duo explore San Diego's Mexican food scene.

Esparza will be joining the James Beard Award winner as he hits the streets for tortas ahogados at Tortas Ahogadas el Gallito and barbacoa specialist Aqui es Texcoco, both located just north of the border in Chula Vista. You can check out a sneak preview of some backyard goat barbecue online, but the full episode airs tonight on the Travel Channel at 7 p.m. PST.

Stay tuned, though, as rumor has it that Esparza soon will be filming segments for an upcoming travel show focused on the hidden side of L.A.'s street food culture.
