Casamigos: George Clooney's New Tequila (Yes, The Bottle Is Hot) + His Su Casa Cocktail Recipe
Always wanted to have a cocktail with George Clooney? Grab a bottle of Casamigos, Clooney and longtime friend Rande Gerber's new tequila label, and pull up Argo or Ocean's Eleven, or hell, even ER works. It doesn't matter. By morning, you'll be able to tell your friends all about that incredible night at Su Casa (Clooney's quick and easy take on the Paloma cocktail).

Both Clooney and Gerber, the former model turned restaurant/bar mogul who is married to Cindy Crawford, have homes in Mexico -- Casamigos is an abbreviation of casa amigos ("house of friends").
With that trio, you can expect a gorgeous bottle (it is). As Clooney is involved, they've also made an entertaining video about the consequences of overindulging among the Hollywood elite. Oh, to be middle-aged and beautiful.

As is traditional, the tequilas are fermented from 100% blue (Weber) agave in Jalisco. According to the company website, their "unique" flavor profile (we have not tasted it) is derived from an "extra-slow" 80-hour fermentation and the use of bagasse, a byproduct of tequila production, to imbue a richer flavor.
The blanco is aged for two months in stainless steel, the reposado for 7 months in reconditioned American oak barrels formerly used for making whiskey. The cost of a night with Clooney (and Gerber)? Both bottles hover right under $50 a bottle (available only at Bevmo). A good deal? Right. It may not the appropriate time or place to answer that.
But should you be worried about your friends giving you a Zero Dark Thirty sort of inquiry about that celebrity cocktail storyline validity, you can always cite the Casamigos press release as proof that Clooney's lips and hands really were at Su Casa: Each batch of tequila is tasted, approved, numbered and signed by both Clooney and Gerber.

Makes: 1 cocktail
1.5 oz Casamigos Reposado tequila
1.5 oz grapefruit soda
Method: Build into a tall glass with ice. Top with squeeze lime.
Garnish: with a lime wedge.
