Nestle USA's Pizza Division is recalling four different frozen pizzas because they may contain clear plastic fragments. The extra-crunchy pizzas are:

• California Pizza Kitchen (CPK) Crispy Thin Crust White®, UPC 71921 98745; production codes are 3062525951, 3062525952 and 3063525951.
• California Pizza Kitchen® Limited Edition Grilled Chicken with Cabernet Sauce, UPC 71921 00781; production code is 3059525952.
• DiGiorno® Crispy Flatbread Pizza Tuscan Style Chicken, UPC 71921 02663; production codes are 3057525922 and 3058525921.
• DiGiorno® pizzeria!™ Bianca/White Pizza, UPC 71921 91484; production code is 3068525951.

Nestle says it has traced the source of the plastic bits to a spinach supplier. That's what you get for trying to eat "healthy" pizza.

With plenty of serviceable options for wood-fired pizza right here in the city, why would anyone hop into their car for an hours-long ride just to try a pie? And a FLATBREAD pizza at that?! Well, because Full of Life Flatbread in Los Alamos is fantastic. Sure, it's tucked away at the end of a one-road town along California's Central Coast, where wine grapes outnumber humans by a factor of thousands. And yes, Full of Life seems sprung from the bones of an old general store, with a yawning front porch, wide bar and open, wood-paneled dining room. It even sources all of its organic ingredients locally, some right from its planter-box garden next door.

But the only reason you should care about driving to Full of Life Flatbread is because it's delicious.

In the land of strip malls, Koreatown in king. There are stacks upon stacks of tiny one-off eateries that dot the landscape around Western Avenue as it cruises towards Wilshire Blvd., an untold number that speaks to just how well K-towners must eat. More often than not, these are the sorts of places that eschew websites, only accept cash and rely on word of mouth or a strong set of eyes to discover. It's strip mall dining heaven in Koreatown, starting with the bustling corner strip spot along Western and 3rd Street known as Western Village.

One of the recalled products

Ten million pounds of frozen pizza and other snacks have been recalled due to contamination with a rare strain of E. coli, according to the Food and Drug Administration.

Buffalo, N.Y.-based Rich Products Corp. is recalling all items produced by at its Waycross, Ga. plant with "Best By" dates ranging from Jan. 1, 2013 to Sept. 29, 2014. The recalled products, which were distributed nationwide, include the brands Farm Rich, Schwan's and Market Day, and food items such as Stuffed Crust Pizza Dippers, Mozzarella Bites, Philly Cheese Steaks, Mini Quesadillas, Mini Meatball Sandwiches and Mini Bacon Cheeseburgers. (Many of these products are popular with kids, who are particularly vulnerable to E. coli infection.) Click here for the full list.

So far the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention have reported 24 cases of E. coli 0121-related illnesses in 15 states related to the recall. Seven people have been hospitalized.

"Native Style" Deep Dish Pizza from Hollywood Pies

If you drive by the new Hollywood Pies dine-in location, which officially soft opened this past weekend in West Los Angeles, you just might miss it. Taking up a humble 26-seat residence that fittingly used to house former pizza dive Pizza Mania, the location now sports a modest square sign of their logo protruding out and over the sidewalk on Pico Blvd., subtly announcing their presence. You might even find yourself accidentally walking into the neighboring Vietnamese café by mistake, only to be kindly instructed to go "next-door for pizza."

Since we broke word last Spring about Hollywood Pie's new permanent location, deep dish fans and loyal customers have been eagerly awaiting the opening. Expect extended hours (though now closed Mondays and Tuesdays) and a few new specialty menu items. Though they hadn't been "officially" open for dine-in until this weekend, pie-curious locals have been randomly showing up to the barely-finished space for pick-up orders and a sneak peak of their new neighbor.

New Crazy Cheesy Crust pizza

Pizza Hut's executive chef Wiley Bates III has come up with a veritable Frankenpizza, a deformed creation consisting of the company's traditional pan pizza with 16 U-shaped wading pools of melted cheese affixed to the crust (two for each slice). The Crazy Cheesy Crust pizza debuted nationwide yesterday at $12.99 for one topping.

"Consumers always want more cheese," wily chef Bates explained to Yahoo! Finance, without a hint of sheepishness. "The hand-tossed [crust] lends itself to absorbing some of those wonderful flavors, while again maintaining the integrity of the cheese."

Pizza Hut customers "love cheese, and we want to give them not just cheese, but we want to give them the highest quality we can and the most flavor we can," Dominique Vitry, director of menu innovation, added. The crazy cheesy crust contains a blend of five cheeses: Asiago, Romano, Fontina, Provolone and mozzarella. Several combinations of crusts and cheese blends were tested before settling on the final version of bovine-based bliss.

800 Degrees

A new 800 Degrees Neapolitan Pizzeria will set up its wood-burning oven in Santa Monica this fall, just a little over a year after the first one opened its doors in Westwood Village. Slated for a 5,000-square-feet space at 120 Wilshire Boulevard, the latest outpost will feature a take-out area and a deli offering "hot and cold Italian sandwiches on pizza dough bread baked in the wood-burning oven" in addition to the pizzeria. Just as relevant to their guests, there will also be a parking lot with up to 90 spaces. (Editor's note: You try parking in Westwood, especially if you're really hungry. Right.)
