CRAZY 4 CULT 2: THIS TIME IT'S PERSONAL

A pop flashpoint of artistry, influence and inspiration from lovers of all things cult cinema, Crazy 4 Cult is back for seconds at Gallery 1988 in Hollywood. The sophomore effort - "This Time It's Personal" - opened on Friday night to a packed room and a long queue of pop cult-savvy geeks trailing down Melrose, eager for a look at the cornucopia of pieces that make up the 2008 selection. Some artists returning from last year's line up and some are making their debut, with an astoundingly creative, multimedia selection of tributes to heroes, villains and cult flick idols, from Harold and Maude to Walter and The Dude, Barbarella, Galaxina, and the many (many...many...) faces of Johnny Depp. Kevin Smith and his producing partner Scott Mosier were again on hand to host the event. (And in Smith's case, have his face turn up in a least half a dozen incarnations.)

Crazy 4 Cult continues through September 12th at Gallery 1988, 7020 Melrose, Hollywood.
