72-Year-Old Man Pronounced Dead after Falling off Golf Cart at Stone Oak Golf Course

SAN ANTONIO, TX (April 18, 2024)Robert Andrew Rowton died early Monday night in a golf cart collision at the 900 block of East Sonterra Boulevard. The incident occurred at approximately 5:30 p.m., on March 18th. Per reports, Rowton was the backseat passenger of a 2024 Icon golf cart. For reasons under investigation, the operator of the golf cart lost control while heading uphill at the Stone Oak golf course. Officers say the golf cart rolled backwards onto its passenger side, ejecting Rowton. Despite life-saving efforts, medics pronounced 72-year-old Rowton deceased at the scene. Meanwhile, the other passenger sustained serious injuries and was taken to a nearby hospital for further treatment. No charges were filed at this time, and the incident remains under further investigation. Once available, further details will be provided about the fatal collision on East Sonterra Boulevard.
