77-Year-Old Man Critically Injured in Big-Rig Accident near Parker Road

CASTAIC, CA (May 15, 2024) – One man was killed late Thursday morning, in  a semi-truck crash on the 5 Freeway.

California Highway Patrol officers responded to the northbound lanes of the Golden State Freeway near Parker and Road around 11:45 a.m.
 
Investigators report that the driver of an orange Chevrolet Corvette rear-ended a semi-truck’s trailer, becoming trapped underneath.
 
Los Angeles County Fire Department units freed the 77-year-old Corvette driver and transported him to a nearby hospital for further treatment. It remains unclear whether the semi-truck driver sustained any injuries in the incident.
 
Emergency crews closed at least three northbound lanes of the 5 Freeway during the clearing operations. Authorities continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the two-vehicle crash on Parker Road.
