Tonight at the Troubadour: Veteran Scottish Indie Rockers Trashcan Sinatras

Trashcan Sinatras "Oranges and Apples"

Scottish indie rockers Trashcan Sinatras have a strange, but not uncommon, history. Upon their start in the early 1990s, they were hyped to take over where bands like The Smiths left off, creating perfectly pretty guitar rock filled with lilting melodies. But, by the time of the band's second album, the sorely underrated I've Seen Everything, grunge had rendered the Trashcan's sound utterly unfashionable. And so they continued through label issues, finally branching out on their own. The band's most recent album, In the Music, has been released as a high quality, DRM-free download in addition to a collectible hard copy that features extra tracks and numbered, custom packaging. Check out Trashcan Sinatras tonight at the Troubadour, maybe they'll play their nearly unrecognizable, yet fantastic, cover of "MacArthur Park."
