Fol Chen Release Free Digital Album w/ Remixes from Liars, Rafter, Dublab (MP3s)
With all the enigma Fol Chen collective seems to ooze, it wouldn't be entirely surprising to find out that the Highland Park band has deep-seated ties to Freemasonry. And now this mysterious missive from Fol Chen's label, Asthmatic Kitty:
"The pyramid was built, the plans set in motion, necessary parties were contacted and contracted. Now Samuel Bing, Melissa Thorne and the gang are preparing for their next assignment. Is it geodesic in nature? Urt-like? Subterranean?"
Perhaps the Prince-loving septet has a stage set of Daft Punk proportions in the works for its upcoming European jaunt, but for the rest of us, Fol Chen is offering something a bit more concrete: a free album's worth of material -- remixes (both by and for the band), versions, and one new song -- titled The Longer U Wait.

Fol Chen play the Echo tonight as part of Rock N Roll Summer Circus (co-presented by LA Weekly and Aquarium Drunkard), alongside The Henry Clay People, Flying Tourbillon Orchestra, and Marvelous Toy. If you're lucky the band might do this again:
