Bauhaus' David J. Wants To Be Your Wedding DJ (When Not Busy Helping Buddies Black Francis and Alan Moore)

We know you've been preparing your wedding for over a year, that everything is just like you imagined through your princessy girlhood, and that you've successfully altered yourself so you don't have to alter the Vera Wang. Still, wanna make your "very special day" even more special? How about hiring the guy who wrote the lyrics to "Bela Lugosi's Dead" to be your wedding DJ?

That's right--David J., bassist for Bauhaus, founding member of Love and Rockets and honorary Angeleno--is available through his website "in both his capacities as musician and DJ," helpfully clarifying that "weddings and Bar Mitzvahs are not out of the question!"

David will be unavailable, however, on December 8th, when he will join Flea, "Weird Al" Yankovic, Michael Penn, and others for Black Francis' "Winston Calling: A Rock & Comedy Benefit" for the treatment of ailing toddler Winston Bertrand at the Echoplex.

Keeping himself busy, the elegant former goth and man-about-town--also responsible for two fantastically underrated solo collections, On Glass and Urban Urbane--has contributed a track to Nation of Saints, the free CD included with this month's much expected Alan Moore-edited fanzine Dodgem Logic. Comics wizard Moore and David J go way back: the Bearded One was involved in the creation of Bauhaus' difficult 1988 1981 album Mask, and the bassist set some of the songs in the V for Vendetta graphic novel to eerie music. Both artists hail from Northampton, England.
