Video Feast: New Clips from Foreign Born, Nite Jewel + Dam-Funk, We Are The World, and Edward Sharpe

In honor of, err, it being Thursday, West Coast Sound has rounded up a spate of newly released videos from around the L.A. underground -- and the Ugandan one as well, as the first clip illustrates.

Need a feel-good moment? Look no further than this video, which shows the Gulu Widows Group of Uganda singing "Home" by Edward Sharpe & The Magnetic Zeros. The band's July record release show at the Roosevelt also served as a fundraiser for this then-aspiring farm collective. They just had their first harvest.

Next, director Matthew Lessner takes Foreign Born into "Uncharted Reaches," in this video for the single "Early Warnings." From the label: "Follow the Foreign Born dudes as they travel by plane, by boat, and by foot with their trusty companion Floyd, to explore the flora and fauna of the Uncharted Reaches, including the elusive and rare Lamborghini Ox. It's a journey that would make Steve Zissou himself proud." You may recognize Floyd from his cameos in the video for Fool's Gold's "Surprise Hotel," also directed by Lessner.

In this longer short, watch hypnogogic queen Nite Jewel make history by collaborating with Stones Throw groove king Dâm-Funk for XLR8R magazine. Ariel Pink's Haunted Graffiti guitarist Cole M. Greif-Neill contributed some bass notes to the inspired session, which eventually results in the low-key psych-funk keyboard jam, "Am I Gonna Make It," credited to Nite Funk, which can (and should) be downloaded here.

Last but hardly least, We Are The World -- the endlessly creepy and talented dance/music/fashion quartet co-led by Ryan Heffington -- has just released a beautifully freaky video for its song "Clay Stones." Shot in the San Bernardino forest, the clip features writhing bodies, Shyamalan-worthy costumery, and demon-like creatures whose bodies move like that thing in The Ring. Alma Har'el co-directs.
