Goodnight Keith Moon and other (hypothetical) rocking children's stories

0cover.jpg

West Coast Sound doesn't have any children, that we know of, but if West Coast Sound did, we assume it must be hard to get those whippersnappers to jump in the sack, shut of the light, and begin manufacturing dreams each night. When we were just a baby blog, we were always bummed at the selection of books read to us. Not nearly enough guitar solos in Horton Hears a Who, and that bespectacled creature, Arthur looked too much like a Decemberists fan for our liking. Luckily there's Goodnight Keith Moon, a West Coast Sound approved take on the classic kids book written by Margaret Wise Brown and illustrated by Clement Hurd.

This new version, illustrated by Bruce Worden and written by Clare Cross, includes all the visual information required for rearing a budding rock god or goddess. In fact, West Coast Sound would have no qualms gathering our hypothetical small humans around the warm glow of the Macbook and reading them the following .jpgs from this heartwarming slideshow.

Or maybe we'd just let Uncle YouTube read it to them, while we go and re-organize our vinyl and drink Simpler Times.

But what other classic children's books should get the rock treatment? Some suggestions after the jump.
