Steampunk Game Boy for 8-Bit Neo-Victorians

Categories: Synthful

Kyle Robinson is a toy maker in Eugene, Oregon. When he's not busy in the workshop, he makes chip music under the name Thretris. Eventually, he combined his love of 8-bit sounds with his talent for modifying objects by making custom Game Boys.

"As it turned out, a lot of musicians and collectors really enjoyed my stuff so I started doing a lot of them to sell here and there," he explains.

Robinson's steampunk Game Boy is a favorite of ours. He says that the inspiration came "after seeing some really steampunk arcade mods online." Check out his demo video for his gadget below. You can see more customized Game Boys on Robinson's Flickr page and view his action figure creations on his website.
