Cursed Danger Mouse/David Lynch/Sparklehorse Collaboration Finally Given a Release Date

Pitchfork reports that Dark Night of the Soul, the seemingly cursed collaboration between Danger Muse, David Lynch, and the late Sparklehorse will finally be officially released this Summer:

Parlophone/EMI will release Dark Night of the Soul July 12 in the UK and July 13 in the U.S. via Capitol.

Unfortunately, Linkous didn't live to see Dark Night of the Soul on shelves; he committed suicide in March. His family has issued a statement about the album's release: "Mark felt that it was an honor to be able to collaborate with so many of the artists on this record. His time and dedication to this project was immense and his hopes for its release are finally being realized. We are glad that people will now be able to hear these songs and know the beautiful gift that Mark shared with all of us through his music."

Danger Mouse also says, "I told Mark that we'd worked things out with EMI back in January and he was very happy that the album was finally going to be released this year. Mark meant a great deal to a lot of people and I'm grateful to have made music with him and to be a part of his legacy."

The album will come packaged with a series of original photos from Lynch. It is also being dedicated to Vic Chesnutt, who contributed to the album, and who died last winter.
