We like Take. A lot. And though we've been harsh, we don't totally hate Glitch Mob.

The former released his excellent new album, Only Mountain, on Alpha Pup this week. The record hearkens back to a time when Boards of Canada and Squarepusher were buzzing up-and-comers, even as it modernizes that sound for a new generation.

The latter have a full-length debut due out May 25 on their own Glass Air Records. Drink the Sea will no doubt be the stuff this band is made of: big bass, big beats, big synths and big texture.

And though the two are no longer labelmates, and probably won't share a bill at Low End Theory any time soon (A-Pup owner Daddy Kev books the influential electronic club), their paths continue to converge in weird ways.

For instance: They've both discovered strange beasts hitherto believed to be of a purely mythical nature in the woodlands of Southern California.

While Take's new single "Incredibright" appears to have a Pied Piper-like effect on the elusive cable-snake (see below), it appears that Glitch Mob's outsize beats are able to summon the most famous of outsize beasts: Bigfoot.
