Queens of the Stone Age to Release Deluxe Edition of Classic 'Rated R'

Queens of the Stone Age's 2000 album 'Rated R' offered an antidote to the masculine, bravado-heavy hard rock that dominated at the turn of the millennium. In honor of the 10 year anniversary of QOTSA's major label debut, the band is releasing a two-disc deluxe edition of Rated R on August 3rd, complete with six b-sides and live cuts from the 2000 Reading Festival.
According to the label:
The B-sides are "Ode To Clarissa"; "You're So Vague," a spoof of Carly Simon's "You're So Vain"; covers of Romeo Void's "Never Say Never" and the Kinks' "Who'll Be The Next In Line"; a live version of the album's "Monsters In The Parasol"; and a re-recording of "Born To Hula," an early QOTSA song. The other Reading Festival tracks are concert takes on "Ode To Clarissa," three songs from the band's debut album ("Regular John," "Avon" and "You Can't Quit Me, Baby"), and "Millionaire," a song originally from Josh Homme side project Desert Sessions.
The album is a reintroduction to QOTSA before Dave Grohl, Them Crooked Vultures, and Guitar Hero. It goes back to a time when QOTSA was drastically different than their hard edged contemporaries, who fully embraced rap metal. Instead, Queens of the Stone Age chose to embrace the weird.
