Scum-F*cked: GG Allin's Ghost Conjured by Frances Bean Cobain, Porn Stars in Same Night

GG Allin haunted us last week. He seemed a vile, mysogynist and downright repugnant human being, but the deceased shock-rocker (who makes Marilyn Manson look like Pee Wee Herman) continues to inspire ... women, or so it seemed so Friday night.

Frances Bean Cobain made her art debut La Luz De Jesus' latest group show Friday, and the only reason it wasn't swarming with Nirvana fans was that they didn't know. Showing under a pseudonym -- Fiddle Tim -- Cobain's work was center-pieced around the Allin portrait above.

The exhibit was still packed thanks to other strong artists on the bill and La Luz's usual there-for-the-free-boozers (and BBQ!), and we hear Cobain made a brief appearance after we left. As for the work, it's about as dark and subtextual as one might expect from Kurt and Courtney's 17-year-old daughter.

"Scum Fuck," portrays punk's ultimate attention-grabbing provocateur (Allin, not her mom) and it's apparently meant as an ironic contrast to the artist's own anonymity (now that the word is out about her identity, we expect a new alias for future shows). Creepy, clean-lined, and a bit campy, the notebook collection, which features other more ethereal subjects, marked a compelling debut and though it's already sold out, you can see it here and up in the gallery through August 1.

Our next stop after the exhibit, a screening and party for Ramzi Abed's new documentary, The New Erotic, at Silver Lake's newest art hub The Department of Flying Vehicles (see Nightranger in print this Thursday for the full report) featured after-party entertainment by an all-girl band that, coincidentally, referred to itself a cross between My Little Pony and GG Allin: Pajamaband, featuring adult stars Jayme Langford (a Dave Navarro ex) and Jana Jordan. They cover Allin's "Don't Talk To Me" and their own masterpieces include ditties, like "Fuck Until You Die."

These girls suck in more ways than one, but who cares? Not porn fans, obviously.
