UPDATE: Sunset Junction 2010 Lineup for Sunday (in Case the Official Website Crashes Again)

• I live one block away (on Maltman) and we got fliers in our mailboxes weeks ago about the freebies. Went to Tsunami last week to pick up my tix. Easy breezy. Those just outside the free tix borders got half-off I heard. Other than a little more traffic and some music in the distance, SJ hasn't been a "nightmare." (My experience on the ferris wheel yesterday is another story & it will be told here soon). But, I can deal with a little hoopla on my street one weekend a year...

• I wish I was at Sunset Junction where the real urine's at.

• Plus, their website crashed and has been down all day. I'm in the free pass vicinity, but was denied one because my address happens to be technically on Fountain (I am at Fountain and Sunset). You can get the passes up to the 19th at a local coffee house.

• The junction is always terrible for the neighborhood. At this point, I wish it'd just go away. Isn't it supposed to be a neighborhood fair? Every year it feels less neighborhood-y and every year the organizers seem more hostile towards residents.

• Yes, Mercury is retrograde, and it appears M. McKinley, in a distasteful cash grab, seems to have RAISED the ticket fee, in a DEPRESSION. Although the line-up isn't bad - Dam-Funk stands out - I will not be bringing my freewheeling, independent spirit to this function. Wouldn't it have been cool if, in a gesture of kindness to those getting hit in this economy, McKinley lowered the price by five bucks? I live in the neighborhood and for some reason, do not qualify for a pass. I think Silver Lake has gotten better and more real in the Depression we're in, it's improved. I'll do stuff here and wait for Sunset Junction to end. DEPOSE Michael McKinley!

• 1000 to 1200 block of hoover? what about the 900 block? BOYCOTT sunset junction. Organizers: visit SXSW and see how it's done. Probably to ignorant, hipster, and hollywood for that. This festival is nothing but a burden.

• For the second year in a row, my husband and I have retreated across town to avoid the nightmare that out neighborhood becomes during Sunset Junction. We'd rather stay in a hotel by the beach than come home to find people peeing in our carport. Not surprising to hear this year os already off to a disorganized start. Glad to be far away.

• Its Terrible! I walk my dog down Lucile to get some milk at the liquor store next to Good, where the fair used to end, and its all barricaded! They tell me I had to get a wristband a week ago? Flyers sent 2 weeks ago? I've been in wintery Sydney for 6 weeks, JUST got back, and was looking forward to enjoying my neighborhood. I didn't ask this thing to expand. So I can't get to my neighborhood shops or bars. I can't drive to another area because I'll never be able to park ("locals only" signs don't keep anyone out). I would take the subway but WAIT, that's down sunset. I would invite people over for a bbq but... no parking. This is terrible for residents.

• HEY - are you listening?? Your website isn't working - how do we all find out pertinent info - homing pigeons? For crying out loud - how do these organizers get a license to operate....

• Yeah, these guys really do not have it together. Their website isn't working either - no way to find out about closures, etc. - sigh

• No reason to pay. I have just walked behind some building and walked in for free every year. Try the parking lot behind the gelato place.

• I got a flyer on my door for people that live x distance close to the event that get free tix for the inconvenience. We were told to go to tsunami coffee on sunset. Hope that helps!
