Who: Judson Rogers, a.k.a. Sumsun, a Florida (and occasionally North Carolina) based electronic musician who has been releasing music through L.A.'s own Low End Theory affiliated label, Leaving Records.
Sumsun's Judson Rogers channels Four Tet and Neon Indian on the exclusive track, "Call it Home"
What: "Call It Home," a track that has less to do with the local beat music landscape (I.E. Flying Lotus, Nosaj Thing) and more to do with a transatlantic ethereal dance vibe that splits the difference between Four Tet and Neon Indian, or Caribou and Mount Kimbie.
Why You Should Care: Because Sumsun's pending Samo Milagro album is the most accessible release to come from the Leaving Records camp yet -- it's an apt gateway drug to a world of collage-based tunes that value atmosphere and texture over thump and glitch.
