Tokimonsta remixes TAKE; Low End Theory hits the Eagle Rock Music Fest.

​The world-famous Low End Theory club will host a stage at the Eagle Rock Music Festival this Saturday. That's the reason for the season, but do we really need an excuse to debut a track combining the talents of two beat scene beasts?

We thought TAKE's Only Mountain was one of the strongest releases to come from the Low End Theory crew this year, so we were excited to discover that a remix album is on the way.

For this West Coast Sound debut, rising L.A. femme fatale Tokimonsta takes "Horizontal Figuration" and slows it to a gangsta swing, then gives it a layer or two of lush electronics.

Unfortunately, Tokimonsta will be out of town for this weekend's festivities, but TAKE is performing at 5:40 p.m. Saturday's event is the 12th annual Eagle Rock Music Festival and the first to hand over an entire stage to Low End Theory. Among the highlights will be several must-see performers: Nosaj Thing, the Gaslamp Killer, Teebs, and D-Styles.
