What do Moby, Questlove, Will Oldham, Dave Matthews, Rufus Wainwright and Yoko Ono Have in Common? 'ITW Pathway', a Mysterious Movie Also Featuring Terrence Howard and Rosie Perez
This morning we received an enigmatic announcement about what looks to be a star-studded reimagining of The Blair Witch Project as directed by David Lynch.
Various actors, musicians and others stand around in the woods in the winter, muttering things like: "I just want the truth" (Rosie Perez); "It's bottom up!" (Temple Grandin); and "I'm scared of living in this world" (Terrence Howard).
But ... what does it mean? Perhaps they're all discussing the mystery, majesty and terrible beauty of Yosemitebear's double rainbow? Frankly, we have no idea.
The film is ITW: Pathway and it was made by Jennifer Elster, a former music video casting director. We're told that none of the ensemble cast "had any idea what they were getting into when signing onto this project." And Yoko Ono, naturally, scored the creepy thing.
Watch some clips:
Rosie Perez, always one to keep it real.
Temple Grandin, possibly describing Reagonimics.
But weirdest of all is the movie's website, which offers a Myst-like interactive experience, whereby poking around with one's mouse delivers a series of increasingly maddening clues, ultimately resulting in the user being lost in the woods as well, rambling existential queries like, "Why, in God's name, did I ever click on this silly website?!"
Also, it appears to be a trilogy. Here's the cast:
