After a long election season of bombardment by pundits, propositions, and polarization (and annoying alliteration?), it's finally over. You voted your ass off. So you might as well reward yourself for a job well done, right?

So what better way to give yourself a high-five than checking out Japan's Suzan as the make their Los Angeles debut tonight at Cinespace? No really. Is there a better way? No. Google it. See. Told you.

Their debut rock album Golden Week For The Poco Poco Beat came out last week and was produced by Bjorn from Peter, Bjorn & John (who they apparently contacted via Myspace message, which, evidently, is still used in Japan). With rubbery basslines, four-on-the-floor drums, and upbeat melodies the all-lady band merges American indie pop with faint undertones of traditional Japanese music. Remember Cibo Matto? Imagine a less jokey version and you have Suzan. And, let's face it, they're really, really fun. They're the perfect house band for the prom you never had.

For some sounds of Suzan, we've compiled a few free downloads here, including the ladies' take on the Strokes and Kanye West. And since Suzan are a lovely bunch, they've EXCLUSIVELY given West Coast Sound a first listen to their Telex cover, "Moskow Diskow" too. Check it:
