31-Year-Old Rider Pronounced Dead after Motorcycle Collision near East Via Escuela

PALM SPRINGS, CA (May 3, 2024) Caleb Goodrich died Sunday night, in a motorcycle crash on Gene Autry Trail.

The incident occurred at approximately 8:00 p.m., on the northbound lanes of Gene Aunty Trail, near East Via Escuela.

Upon reaching the scene, officers found that a motorcyclist heading north on the trail collided with a vehicle making a left turn onto Via Escuela. Due to the severity of injuries, first responders pronounced the rider deceased at the scene.

Paramedics also took the 64-year-old driver, a resident of Rancho Mirage, to a hospital for treatment for moderate injuries. Investigators have ruled out intoxication as a contributing factor in the accident.

Authorities later confirmed the identity of the deceased motorcyclist as 31-year-old Goodrich, from Auburn. Once available, more details will be provided.
