EXCLUSIVE: Silver Lake Jubilee Announces Confirmed Bands and Comedians

Under the bridge downtown, of course, is where I drew some blood. But under the bridge in downtown Silver Lake is where Jubilee happens. Yes, on May 21 & 22nd, the second annual Silver Lake Jubilee will bring bands, food, and booze for your ears, face, and liver (in that order). It's like Sunset Junction junior, without the precariously constructed carnival rides and cataclysmic traffic jam.

Last year, we slammed our food/earholes with culinary/auditory stimula, and this year the Silver Lake Jubilee promises 50+ bands, a gaggle of comedians, and some pre-summer chillaxation. "Is it for a good cause?" you may ask your interns. You bet. The SLJ benefits the Los Angeles Arts and Athletics Alliance, and aims to be environmentally sustainable (and for $5, it's economically sustainable too). So you wanna know who's playing? Why can’t the organizers of this event advertise properly? Everywhere I find the flier online it is too small to read such important details as the hours for the festival each day. Plus, if I want to see a certain band, it would be nice to have some ballpark estimate of when they’re going to play. Or at least which day. C’mon people! GET IT TOGETHER!

last year there were some gaps where you could slip in for free by the recycle mobile, not me but I saw plenty of others, so hopefully that won't be an issue this year, especially since it's for a cause
