NWA Reunion Today at the Santa Monica Pier: Here Are All the Details

nwasantamonica.jpg

Everyone has been asking us all the details about the NWA reunion show that's supposed to happen today at the Santa Monica Pier.

Here's what we know:

We printed the following Music Pick on this week's print edition of the LA Weekly:

Well, it was bound to happen. All the living members of N.W.A. are reuniting for a one-time only free show at the Santa Monica Pier, with Odd Future's Tyler the Creator reenacting Eazy-E's raps in character. The event is a benefit for the charity Rappers Against Tsunamis, with all proceedings going to R.A.T.'s outreach work training at-risk youth on tidal wave prevention. Warning: Make sure you triple-check your calendars to make sure you understand which day this is happening -- you really don't wanna be fooled driving all the way to Santa Monica on the wrong date.-- Weir F. Attention privileged white folks at the LA Weekly: Ha Ha! You got us. Well, actually you didn't, because you incompetent turds couldn't even pull off a simple April Fool's Day joke and announced it too early. (as the Santa Monica Pier people pointed out on their website.)

So you're incapable of using google for even the simplest of fact-checking, but now you can't even use a calendar? Yikes, guys.

Thank god no one reads the Weekly because if I was one of the people who had to turn away the three readers you have who will show up for this, I'd not be a happy camper.

But here's my anti April Fool's joke for you. Some advice: Everyone knows that your publication isn't exactly the most integrated, and that's cool. It's normal life. But the more you jock Tyler and his crew in this way as a novelty, and now start thinking that it might be funny to center your jokes around NWA, or really any hip hop act when you clearly don't actually give a shit about the genre unless it ties into some ironic hipster-approved crossover act... well, you're not about to start making any friends.

Oh, and one last bit of advice... a "protip" you might say: when you get busted on March 31, don't try to run the joke the next day. I know coming up with something as brilliant as the above takes months for you twits, but... improv.

not at all funny borderline disrespectful considering the recent passing of Nate Dogg and need for healing in the hip hop community.
