KCRW BROADCAST #118 for Saturday, June 11.

Fanatics! It is 1600 hrs. PST. I am in Los Angeles, in the back of a taxi, speeding back to the office. I am in the third day of next to no sleep. I don't know what is keeping me up. I got a few hours in the early part of last Thursday but that's about it.

I went from India to the Bonaroo Festival where I was onstage last night. I met Cheech Marin and Louis Black there, they were very cool. The show was good, the audience was great.

As you can see, there' a chronological walk through the music of Dax Riggs. Very cool. As well, in the last third of the first hour, we pay tribute to the great producer, Martin Rushent, who sadly passed away recently. So, he being the producer of some records we really like on this show, we will do an all Martin set.

I have not managed to sleep too much and my body is now paying me back and reminding me that I am not twenty any longer. I got up before dawn, finished the show and listened down to it. I think we have a good one and I hope you agree. Damn sad about Mr. Rushent.

Last night, I dragged my weary carcass to the Echo and saw Dax Riggs play. Some of you were at the show, great to talk to you. WHAT A SHOW. I mean WOW. Dax was so amazing. The version of "Heartbreak Hotel" was incredible. Great song selections, great playing and singing. Good attendance, glad people showed up. I would be back there tonight but Dax and band are on a little earlier and I will be with you on the air. If you ever get the chance to see him play, do it!

Ok, below is all that cool track info. More Oh Sees, more Boris. Lots of Dax, Martin Rushent salute. We have a show! All you need to do is tune in and STAY FANATIC!!! --Henry

Martin Rushent produced Ian Gomm as well who had aUS top twenty hit back in 1979 on Stiff/Epic Records with "Hold On" featuring Martin Rushent singing harmonies with him.
