Forget about Christmas, June marks the jolliest time of the year, at least for gays. Yep, it's Gay Pride weekend folks, and if you happen to be anywhere near West Hollywood, you can expect pretty much non-stop revelry all day and night. Those looking for non-Pride parties have plenty to choose from as well. From wild themed bashes to DJ visits from across the pond and beyond (including an NYC "Late Night" beat boy) to an afternoon delight in a new locale, variety is once again the spice of L.A.'s club scene. Gay, straight, bi; black, white; or electro, hip-hop, indie-inclined, when it comes to partying, LA's diverse dance haps are something we can all be proud of.

Fri., June 10

From its logo and name to its playlists, Club Underground has always had British a sort of flair. And now, one of the UK's legendary clubs join forces with this L.A. institution for a special fete. Almost two decades strong, Blow Up UK, facilitated the '90s Brit Pop explosion and maintains a faithful following with its sound offerings (Indie pop, new wave, pop electronique, 60s instrumentals, experimental grooves), all dance floor choices not unlike those heard at Underground. The melding of the two parties should be smashing indeed. Blow Up UK DJ and creator Paul Tunkin will be in the house. At the Echo, 1822 Sunset Blvd., Echo Park. www.clubunderground.wordpress.com

Electronic music pioneer Paul Van Dyk takes over The Palladium, offering fans who missed him at Coachella the chance to experience his new mega-production set-up in an indoor venue. Soon to release Evolution (a new artist album later this year), the Grammy-nominated DJ/producer is sure to get the massive room sweaty even without the desert heat. 6215 Sunset Blvd. www.insomniac.com.

Studio 69 goes all out again this month, this time with a "Pirates & Ninjas" theme. All the usual hedonistic amusements and wild embellishments will be part of the spectacle: makeover stations, fire performances, costume contests, dance troupes, art installations and DJs including Lea Luna, Mark Zabala, Schlaut & Thomas B., Roxy Contin, Flash, The Izm, Slutz and more. At Vanguard, 6021 Hollywood Blvd. www.perish69club.com.

Questlove makes a special guest DJ appearance at Central Aid & Social Club, and anyone who's ever heard drummer spin, knows his rhythmic skills go beyond the skins. An educated guess? He'll be playing some kind of Gil Scott-Heron tribute. The (musical) revolution may in fact, be televised these days thanks to The Roots on Late Night With Jimmy Fallon, but off camera -- and in the club -- is where the magic happens. 1348 14th St., Santa Monica. www.centralsapc.com

Sun., June 12

We could definitely see Questo sticking around for Sunday's The Do-Over, but who knows? Really, you never know whatcha gonna get at this one, except of course, a body-rocking crowd and great DJs spinning rare grooves, old school hip-hop and funky jams. Who will actually take the decks is where the surprises come in and they never disappoint. And now with a new location back in Hollywood (the hap was just way too packed for El Cid where the Summer kick-off began), all you need to know is this is a "Do" no matter where it is. At Cabana Club, 1439 Ivar Ave, Hlywd. Free with RSVP at http://blog.thedoover.net
