Out On The Mountain
A wildly amusing party week awaits, which the emphasis on "amusing." Black lights, glowing boobies, circus performers, rock freaks, and gay gaggles at L.A.'s most thrilling theme park are just a few of the offerings this week. Enjoy the ride(s)!

Fri., Sept. 23

Out On The Mountain -- the annual GLBT event at Magic Mountain -- will have folks shrieking, for a number of reasons. The park is closed to the general public for this special gay and gay-friendly event, which means shorter lines for rides. Even better, there will be a full-on pop dance party with DJ Ray Rhodes on the decks, and go-go grinding gals and guys. All ages. 6pm-1am. Pre-sale (online) tickets at www.outonthemountain.com

Earplugs are optional but it might be a good idea to bring 'em with ya, as melodic, industrial yet heavies Assemblage 23 hit Das Bunker. It sold out last time they were in town, so snatch up your tix early here. At Catch One, 4067 Pico Blvd. www.dasbunker.org

Sat., Sept. 24

After a successful Sunset (Un)Junction weekend, undergroundish music shindig What Cheer? returns with Rock n' Roll Circus, an early evening BBQ and carnival featuring sideshows, games, and aerialists. Its bands will include Fancy Space People, Strangers Family Band, and Bowery Beasts with their record release party. There will also be a big roster of deejays, including Patrick Melcher, Erick Borboa, Screamin' Jay Moore, Aaron Castle and Whiskey Beard. 7 p.m.-Midnight. Free BBQ from 7- 9 p.m. 3213 Beverly Blvd. (enter thru alley). www.facebook.com/pages/What-Cheer-Bar

The Bullet celebrates another year of flashback fun with its signature vintage soul and garage grinding. DJs Dan Electro, Soulshaker, Jason Pandora, Dr Ray, Ladybug and Lee Joseph spin. There's no cover, but there will be food and tables available for those who like to watch the mod world. Polish those go-go boots! Hollywood Studio Bar & Grlll, 6122 west Sunset Blvd., Hollywood. Facebook invite here.

Get your glow on, at Clockwork vs. Velvet (Black Lite Edition), where partiers are encouraged to wear neon colors and dance to a multi-music genre mix. In the Clockwork Orange Room, Mike Stewart spins an 80's mix (New Wave, Post Punk, Dance Hits) and in the Velvet Room, Bruce Perdew plays '90s Pop, & Electro. Velvet's vampy go-go gals will reportedly be sporting "Day-Glow Boobies" in the dark environs. At Vertigo's, 801 W Temple St., downtown. www.evilclubempire.com
