Get ready for a host of arty parties in the coming days, as Pacific Standard Time and Fashion Week events take over town. There's also a sure-to-be ferocious fun tribute night pitting two '80s faves against each other on the dance floor, as well as two pop-in worthy appearances by two turntable talents, one house and one hip-hop.

Fri., Sept. 30

We Wit It L.A. and The Hear Gallery remind us that it's Fashion Week, as a mesh of designers, DJs, artists and bands gather for Emerge LA, at one of our favorite new spaces. Designers include Vintage Manifesto, Under The Table, TheLocal TouristSpot, NativeLA, Melissa Velia and As Is, and the art show features An-thony Fuentes, Ahh'd, Arkind, Cstar, Just Rule, Julian Keith, Meirav Haber, Jennifer Korsen, Funky Circus and Ngene Mwaura. As for live bands, there will be PBC, Alysse Fischer, A-RoC & Bläzè, Buffalo Electric, Shadowrunners Click and Ballerina Black. And don't miss the sure-to-be-raging midnight dance party with DJs Boogi, Dances With Wolves and DJ Srsly. At What Cheer at The Holding Company, 3213 Beverly Blvd. 9 p.m. - "pretty late." Facebook invite here.

If you put Robert Smith and Bernard Sumner in a boxing ring, who'd win? Club Underground's The Cure vs. New Order Night takes a stab at this (not particularly) age old question, giving fans of both acts a chance to get physical, in a good way of course. Both the Manchester dance band and West Sussex pop-Goths have impressive discographies, so the sets from DJs Larry G (aka Supercrass), Diana M., Clifton Weaver (Funky Soul) and guest Alex Transistor (AM|FM/Transistor) should be just like heaven. Sat., Oct. 1

Ann Magnuson and Kenny Scharf curate East Village West, which explores California pop culture and Hollywood's influence on New York City's neo-Dada art movement. Part of the "Pacific Standard Time: Art in L.A. 1945-1980" exhibit, the opening night party will include art, fashion and more by the likes of Keith Haring, Jean-Michel Basquiat, Tseng Kwong Chi, John Sex, Kitty Brophy, Bruno Schmidt, Kenny Scharf, Ann Magnuson, Vincent Gallo, and many more. A special 'vintage' DJ mix by original Club 57 DJ Dany Johnson will be featured in a "Porta Party" installation pod, while DJ Howie Pyro provides the tunes. Per-formance art by Prince Poppycock, Timur of The Dime Museum, Drag King Mo B. Dick as John Sex, plus new wave makeovers, photo booths, videos and more. At Royal T, 8910 Washington Blvd., Culver City. More info at www.pacificstandardtime.org

New York hip hop DJ Rob Swift (X-Ecutioners) is the special guest selector at Boombox, the long-running party featuring hip hop, breaks, & beyond. Expect stellar scratch and mix techniques on display, meshing old school and new cool rhythms. Also appearing will be Inka One [Beathackerz], Ben Diggin [Soul.Scienz], and Analog [Beathackerz]. At Grand Star Jazz Club, 943 N. Broadway. Chinatown. www.twitter.com/boomboxla
