Don't fear Halloween this year, friends. Yes, there are a lot of choices, but some -- even in Hollywood -- do go beyond the usual slutty costumes and amateur night pandemonium. Many promoters are thinking outside the boobie/boogie box for their Halloween haps, serving up wicked new themes that are sexy in atypical ways. Here, the ones deserving of the loudest screams.

Narnia Halloween offers fantasy and fabulousness at La Descarga, the bar behind the magical wardrobe (if you've been there you know what we're talking about). What Cheer Productions brings the beatsmiths (Dan Mancini and Aaron Castle) and the band (Saint Motel) while the bar's bevy of burlesque cast its spell. Mermaids and pirates will haunt the Aquarium of Pacific which opens its doors after dark for a Halloween Night Dive (and dance).
