Good job guys, you've somehow managed to bypass almost every band that should have made this list... Can't say I'll be reading any future music articles you puke out.

OK. I think it is pretty clear that Anna Westhoff needs to lay off smoking bath crystals and snorting Drano...see her GLOWING review of The Livng Sisters and compare it to the above. I am no Oasis fan, but she rags on "Wonderwall" for being "pure nonsense" and then gloats over a "band" whose most (un)popular song "How are you doing?" in utterly atrocious (don't believe me, check out the video on youtube)! Oh and she can't forgive the above for "ripping off other artists songs" yet the album being released by The Living Sisters (and being reviewed by Ms. Westoff, apparently) consists of all cover songs! WTF?  EPIC FAIL!

terrible list... spend the money you made editing it wisely.... i can see you buying a goo goo dolls cd with your check? or will you save that purchase for when you make your "best" list?  let me guess? you are a "poison" fan?

The funny thing is some of the greatest musicians of all time carried these bands, Neil Pert greatest rock drummers, Paul McCartney enough said, Linda Perry could wale especially on the bridge to Morphine and Chocolate if you ever heard 4 non blondes cover of Misty Mountain Hop it was amazing, The Eagles had three amazing song writers in Walsh, Fry and Henley, and could play great rock n roll,  If you want to talk great bass players you can look at Flee from the Chili peppers.  

I would have omitted Hootie - solely because he's wearing a "Silos" t-shirt - and put INXS in their place. Otherwise, no issues.

I made an account just to comment how much rubbish this list is. Some of these bands are complete shite but Rush, RHCP, Pearl Jam?  What kind of crack rock are these authors smoking? Way to be "cutting edge" by saying some of the greatest bands are terrible you bunch of posers. Worst list of all time top 20, this takes the cake.

If you like Rock, Jazz Rock, Progressive Rock, Art Rock, Hard Rock, drums, guitars, bass groove lines, intelligents lyrics and intenses, melodics and emotionals voices... RUSH is the best band in this Galaxy. 40 years of awsome tours, awsome concerts, awsome CD's, awsome videos, awsome live performances, awsome creativity.... You can didn't like RUSH for sure, but RUSH in top 20 of worst band ever? For sure you don't know why RUSH is an awsome band! So .. We apologize...

Whoever wrote this is an idiot and clearly does not play music or know anything about the subject. A lot of those bands are not only incredibly talented but influential as well. LA Weekly, please fire that person... moron.

Look at the source...LA Weekly? Anything coming out of Cali and LA is total bullshit and who really pays any attention to them? They live on another planet. Rush, Eagles, Foreigner, Pearl Jam? REALLY??? Someones jealous over the TALL cash all these bands have earned over there quite successful and LONG LASTING careers.

Did you just Google "bands people bitch about"? This is the best you could do - 20 Worst Bands of All Time? Were you asleep during the 80s or not born yet? There are maybe one or two that deserve inclusion, but you really missed the boat on this one. What a steaming pile of horse feces.

LA weekly didn't even have the guts to include the names of those behind the list (different from those who commented on each band). Maybe it was "Ask the Mexican's" Gus Arellano, protesting the fact that Mexican bands never make the list of "20 greatest bands" or maybe it was pro-gangbanger rights activist/writer Dennis Romero, who prefers "Gay Club" music. People, I love the fact that you take the time to; A. To read the post B. Comment C. Tell your friends about how ridiculous/stupid/foolish this list is. By doing these 3 things, you have given clout to what you "despise" ... this is the internet, kids ... And a good blogger knows how to push your buttons to get attention. For what it's worth, the LA Weekly is great at doing so. BTW - I happen to agree with most of the list and applaud leaving out so many obvious choices.

I can agree with the whole list but I'm not sure if you're about the RHCP, unless you're talking about them now then yeah they suck but they have made 3 amazing albums.
