#6 is called poi (and is often performed with fire). If you don't know what that is, you probably shouldn't be writing articles on Coachella, especially when talking about dancing.

What is the fucking deal with LA Weekly readers that makes every comments section the whiniest bitchfest this side of a PMS convention?
Please ignore the "don't pick on these poor people" comments. This is is hilarious. My only complaint is that there aren't more. ...I feel like half the photos taken of myself are of me crazy-eyed, pontificating expressively, mouth agape, and / or sneezing. pretty sure this article can be summed up as: if you take a 5 second gif of anyone dancing at a concert they'll look a little silly. considering how many legitimately ridiculous moves i've seen in years past, either this was too normal or the format wasn't really conducive. it's certainly no best dancer in the whole world at lollapalooza video

Case in point during Refused's set the only time you heard the crowd was during "New Noise", which was played on radio and in movies so those people were all poseurs.
Seriously? Anyone who was at the Refused show was there seeing a band who hasn't been around in 14 years and was missing one of the biggest acts of the weekend to see them but they didn't sing along to ALL the songs so they aren't officially allowed to like the music according to you? Pretentious idiots like you are the poseurs: you can't just enjoy the music and hope other people discover and find joy in it too; it's like you have to own it and the more people that like it the less you can enjoy it. Gag. Guess what, the artists think you are idiots too. They make music to be listened to by the masses even guys like Refused. Otherwise they wouldn't have done a decade and a half reunion at a majorly commercial festival like coachella. On the dancing gif thing, I think it's funny and the people rabidly defending them need to lighten up a little but the ones making fun and calling them douchebags I just feel sorry for because it must be so sad to live in the world you've created for yourself where you can't just let go and have fun in fear that someone, somewhere might- gasp!- think you are not cool.

I find everything about this article offensive... it just looks like a load of people having a good time to me. Let them do their own thing... who cares if you don't think they're good at dancing, they're probably having a much better time in those seconds than you've had in your entire life. And the girl with the poi? She's actually really fucking good!

If its in public its not invasive. If you do not want to look like an idiot don't do it in public. It would be invasive if it happened in someone's home, but in public there is ZERO expectation of privacy. Get off your high horse and learn what invasive actually means.
