I wasn't a fan of The Beastie Boys until they came out with the Paul's Boutique record. Now I don't know this for sure and nothing against the other two Beastie Boys but, I have a strong hunch that he inspired them to take on more spiritually inclined causes like the Freedom for Tibet concert series being that he was also Buddhist.

He always struck me as the most "spiritually" inclined of the three Beastie Boys kind of like what George Harrison was for The Beatles.  It sucks when people go out of your life, especially when they've made such a positive impact on yours. Peace out bro.

I've been a major fan since the 80's, grew with them in the 90's and stayed with them through the 00's and beyond. I feel like I've lost a long lost friend and I can't believe I'll never see the Beastie Boys again.

He was so much more than a Beastie Boy. He was an amazing soul who fought for social injustice the world over. I will truly miss this remarkable person.

I had that "Together Forever" pic on a t-shirt that is now worth a gazillion dollars. Lost it at some point and it kills me like once every 6 weeks, on average.  : /
