Slash Gets A Walk of Fame Star: "The Very Street Axl Rose Will One Day Be Sleeping On," Jokes Charlie Sheen
In case you don't trawl celebrity news, Slash got a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame yesterday. To celebrate the occasion, a phalanx of paparazzi and fans showed up -- not to mention radio host Jim Ladd and even goddamn Charlie Sheen.

The star for the 46-year-old former Guns N' Roses axeman sits just east of John Travolta's, and directly in front of the Hard Rock Café on Hollywood Blvd. It simply bears the word "Slash." No Saul Hudson up in that beeyotch. The party featured...
...Slash and Myles Kennedy (the lead singer for Slash's solo ish) treating the crowd to some unplugged renditions of their recent work on Hard Rock's main stage area. Oh, and they played "Sweet Child o' Mine" with Steve Adler. No big deal.
But to start things off Sheen, who is actually Slash's neighbor, quipped up some one liners, including "Slash is getting a star on the very street Axl Rose will one day be sleeping on." But it's hard to steal the show from a quiet shredder like Slash, even when he's not shredding. He spoke about the surreality of this spectacle, noting how he had always bought into the Hollywood Boulevard hype and glamor as a kid. Barely audible, he thanked the fans, the press, and the city of Hollywood for the honor.
At one point we got a chance to talk with him. "I think we've met before," he began. (Untrue. His must think all bald guys are the same. Fucking baldist.) "Well, I don't think it's really sunk in yet," he went on. "Actually seeing it in the sidewalk was major, 'cuz I hadn't seen it yet. And so, I think as time goes by it will eventually start to feel real."

"How do we know you're the real Slash - not an impersonator?"
"Just take it on good faith, I guess..." he said, unamused.
He then proceeded to softy rock everyone's minds, as he and Kennedy strummed through some songs from his solo albums and Velvet Revolver's "Fallen to Pieces" before going into GNR territory. Adler jumped up onstage to clap along just as Slash picked into the opening of "Sweet Child o' Mine," while Kennedy did his best Axl rendition.
