Editor's Note: Maybe you didn't make the trek out to the the playa for Burning Man this year. Maybe you had even vowed that you never, ever would. We got ace photographer CuriousJosh to bring us back these amazing GIFs from Burning Man in hopes of changing your mind.

They may not be quite the same thing as spending a week in Black Rock City, but we think they'll give you a taste of what you missed.

Snakes or Ropes is a type of fire poi (a tethered, swinging weight) with uses a straight length of flaming Kevlar rope attached to a chain.

Woohoo! those pix are awesome. I just watched this movie that you had told me about some time ago.. Dust and Illusions (http://dustandillusions.com). That made me want to start a new event. Lots of work but so much inspiration. Those pix make me want to be there right now... but that's not possible. If you're like me watch Dust and Illusions... you'll enjoy it, and it will put your mind at first for 90 minutes at least, and give you a real perspective on Burning Man and its whole history.
