A "very" limited number of "pre-sale" tickets will be available starting Nov. 7, organizers said. Otherwise, the regular on-sale date is ...

... Jan. 9.

The lineup seems far from being announced.

Last year tickets sold out "weeks" before the party, according to an EDC statement. Crowds peaked at 115,000 on one of the three days last summer while the other nights saw six-figure or near six-figure attendance as well.

This will be the 17th annual edition of the party that started in L.A. but left town after controversy in 2010 softened political support for holding it at the publicly run L.A. Coliseum near USC.

Pasquale Rotella, the man behind EDC and promotion company Insomniac, says:

Our team is already working diligently with Las Vegas, the local authorities, and the Speedway to improve traffic flow to make EDC 2013 the best experience yet. And, of course, we're also brewing new imaginative ideas for next year.

For those that think that those who will not go to EDC are not 'fun' people...I will use my experiences as an example: Holy Ship was fcking epic--I can't tell you how many times I looked at my wife (I met her at a rave 10 years ago, btw) and asked "is this really happening, are we really here?!?!?!" My wife and I are going to the BPM Festival in Playa del Carmen for our honeymoon, which is considered the new Ibiza on our side of the pond. I could not stop smiling the entire time at Lightning in a Bottle, it was completely transforming experience for me--and this is our yearly thang with our frenz now (can't wait!!!). The Woogie Stage was the inspiration for our wedding reception canopy, and Diplo and Rusko inspired us to do a wedding dance to Major Lazer's "Hold Yuh" and Rusko's "Hold On". How many of you 'fun' people can tell me about Distrikt, the Space Cowboys, Public Works, Mighty, King King, Beatbox, Ruby Skye, 1015 Folsom, Breakfast of Champions, Ghost Ship....? and for you young'unz just barely old enough to go to EDC, we've been to 5 EDCs, 2 Nocturnal Wonderlands, 3 Monster Massives, 2 Giant NYE shows, 2 Together as Ones and 3 Ultra Music Festivals. I'm not hating on what EDC has become, it's just that EDC does not resonate with who we are as followers of EDM anymore. Insomniac Events says they want to provide an 'experience' (similar to LIB and BM from what I understand), and I don't think that's possible since that kind of fun might conflict with the now-corporate goals of Insomniac. I respect Pasquale Rotella for his hustle, but I really can't respect his game, I'm personally disappointed--especially since he has personally come to some shows I've thrown and told me that 'rave' is a four-letter word (while he profits on that 4-letter word)....but that story is for a different discussion! With all that said--it's all those other fun shows my wife&I have been to that caused us to look at each other at the last EDC and say "really?" to each other, cuz we DO know what fun feels like.... =)

hell 2da no. After going to events like Lightning in a Bottle [LIB] (brought to you by the same folks that put up all the cool staging and such at Coachella), EDC has become perfect for the mainstream crowds who know nothing of what it really means to be a raver. My first impression of EDC in Vegas (I have been to many of these events, and threw some of my own shows) was how d-e-s-t-r-o-y-e-d the bathrooms were at the valet lot. I will give you that the stage production was amazing, but I went NOT for the fire and lights, I went to DANCE--which was hard to do because of all the plastic bottles tossed on the ground in spite of all the trashcans (which were over-filled and ignored by maintenance staff) around. As a comparison, LIB had very few trashcans because they expected you to pick up after yourself, and the trashcans they did have had volunteers working to help you sort recyclables from compost and from landfill. They cleaned the port-a-potties every hour at LIB. The stage productions were small in comparison to EDC, but it was virtually flawless, you could see how professional the crew was in their production. They had random music acts popping up all over the event, aaaaand they even had areas for families and kids. I really felt like I got my money's worth at LIB. Again--EDC has become perfect for the mainstream, but it no longer represents why I became a raver to begin with--it's been sad for me to watch Insomniac transform from something to believe into something to stay away from--but if you're going to EDC, have a good time and be safe!

I'm just going to crank up the heater, buy a disco ball, play loud annoying house music and pop some E at home to save money.
