Touche Amore's Southeast Asian Tour Diary: "I Cannot Put Into Words How Terrifying the Drive Was"

Back to Jakarta, Indonesia
At 2 am we begin the horrifying drive back [to Jakarta]. I wake up to [bassist Tyler Kirby] yelling, "This is the most reckless driving I've ever seen!" at the driver. It's now in the middle of the darkness in the pouring rain. I ask myself, "Should I be awake for this?" My response is, "If you want to be awake when you die, sure." I take more sleep meds to try and sleep through this nightmare of a drive.
I awake to us having to get a new tire. What's more shocking is that we hadn't blown all of our tires -- and that the brakes still work. When we finally made it back, we ordered pizzas and went to bed to forget about what we've been put through.

Indonesia to Germany
With 14 flights (including layovers) in three weeks under our belts, we are ready to head to Europe to start our tour with Converge. Our time in Southeast Asia we'll never forget. The shows were some of the craziest we've played and the travelling was as gnarly and hectic as can be. But, these situations are what make touring so memorable. We thank anyone who had a part in making it happen for us.
