The 10 Best Bars in Culver City

Bernie Wire
7. City Tavern
Beer on tap available at the table! This trendy gastropub gets packed fast which makes the parking situation a little irritating, but the beer is good, the food is equally as good, and the layout is awesome. 9739 Culver Blvd. Culver City, CA 90232; 310-838-9739

6. Backstage Bar & Grill
Located across the street from Sony Studios, the 75 year old dive bar is a Culver City landmark. The pours are stiff, the food is good, the prices are cheap (very cheap) and the service is friendly. Oh, and the bar offers karaoke during the week and live music on the weekends on the weekends and live music during the week. Beware though: it gets really, really loud. As a Backstage regular told us, "my advice to anyone who wants to make Backstage a home is have ear plugs readily available at all times." 10400 Culver Blvd. Culver City, CA 90232; 310-839-3892

5. Public School 310
The booths are set up like study tables with adjustable desk lights, and the menus look like classic black and white speckled composition notebooks. The best part about Public School 310 is the happy hour, (or "recess" as they call it), menu. It's ten dollars for three glasses of wine, and that's the priciest deal on the menu! They also offer a variety of craft beers on tap, and the service is worth a good tip. 9411 Culver Blvd. Culver City, CA 90232; (310) 558-0414

Yeah, Santa Monica bars are over-rated. I never understood the fun in bar hoping SM. Over packed, over priced, full of wannabes.

I like the Backstage bar. The rest are too overpriced.

THANK GOD Rush Street is not on this list. But I agree with Elizabeth- Seventy7 is awful (but Rush Street and Rocco's are worse!).

WTF no Cinema Bar ? Oldest in CC and the bands that play there are the best in town . For shame !

I live in Culver, and this list is pretty-off base. Seventy7 is douchey, crowded, and the bartenders can't make a decent drink to save their lives.  What about The Mandrake?

Never thought Backstage was ever real loud.  Also, they do karaoke Thurs/Fri/Sat and live music Wed (not on weekends), so that's incorrect.

In my expert Culver Cityite opinion, we also have two great sports bars in Rush Street and Rocco's Tavern on Main.  Long/big bars and great service at both.  I think Public School is too new to be on a list like this, they haven't proven themselves yet.  I would pur Ford's on there instead, perfect for a duo getting after work drinks.
