Fanatics! We Are Onto Something With This Playlist
RADIO BROADCAST #219
Fanatics! Good grief, we are onto something with this playlist.
Celebrating the Stooges being in Southern California this weekend, we will begin both hours with Raw Power tracks.
Alas, tonight we come to the last of the Buzzcocks United Artists singles. I wish we had ten more to go. Thanks for hanging in there with this concept. These are songs that sometimes don't get the attention they deserve, even from the most astute Buzzcocks fanatics.
The Khun Paw Yann track in our first hour has some real magic to it, I think. It's hard to figure out where the influences are coming from, that makes it all the more interesting.
In hour two, we rock a song from the a new release on the very cool Tompkins Square label. It's called Let Me Play This For You: Rare Cajun Recordings. This is a serious label! Every release is so well put together and well considered. Not to mention, very hard to sell in this day and age. Support as best you can! Also, another Fall track from the new album Re-Mit.
As promised from last week's on air ramble, we will get on some of that Don Cherry live action. Oh, and the very happening Boris re-release of The Thing That Solomon Overlooked three LP set now on four CD box set is out and sounds amazing. There is a 4th CD of extra stuff, from where we pulled our track from tonight. I managed to miss my chances to see Boris on both coasts. Perhaps next time.
I hope you get a chance to check the show either live or on archive. Rock the jam session and STAY FANATIC!!!
