Chiefs Player and SMU Football Player Arrested after Chain-Reaction Crash near University Boulevard

DALLAS, TX (April 16, 2024) – Rashee Rice and Theodore Knox were arrested Saturday night after a multi-car crash at the 6600 block of North Central Expressway. Police officers responded to the scene around 6:30 p.m., on March 30th. According to reports, Knox was behind the wheel of a Corvette, while Rice was driving a Lamborghini SUV, engaging in reckless racing maneuvers in the northbound lanes. The high-speed race ended in a collision involving two other vehicles, resulting in injuries to four individuals. Paramedics rushed two victims to a nearby hospital, while medical personnel treated the remaining injured parties at the scene. Occupants of both the Corvette and the Lamborghini fled the scene, neglecting to offer aid or alert authorities. Prior to the crash, the Lamborghini was clocked at 119 mph. Investigations revealed the Lamborghini was registered to Rice, a receiver for the NFL’s Kansas City Chiefs, whose actions have prompted the affected families to pursue legal action. Rice and Knox now face charges including aggravated assault, collision resulting in serious bodily injury, and multiple counts of collision involving injury. Rice surrendered to police, subsequently released on $40,000 bond after being booked into DeSoto Regional Jail. Additionally, Knox has been suspended from his team at SMU.
