Exclusive-ish: Michael Jackson's Cancelled Neverland Auction, Captured by Videothing

This speaks for itself, for sure, but a little back story:

When West Coast Sound arrived for the auction of Michael Jackson's Neverland Ranch memorabilia and started perusing the holdings, we realized quickly that we needed video of this. So we got on the horn to our friends at Videothing, put their name on our credentials list as 'videographer' and asked head Videothinger Michael Reich to get the hell down there pronto. He obliged, and shot the video above.

Michael Jackson bust

As you may or may not know, yesterday afternoon Julian's Auctions and Micheal Jackson agreed to cancel the scheduled auction because the King of Pop had second thoughts.

I don't like the camera work. Can't decide which is worse; the random zooming, the fish-eye, or the shakiness.

I rue the era that made this style of so-called "Cinematography" acceptable.

Am i the only one that found this auction to be insanely creepy, i mean he had all of these things in his house, where he'd invite children,... . I don't know, between the statues of children outside i think its safe to assume that he may be a child molester.

chris says:

the guy presenting this video comes across as as an idiot, how did he get a job?
and why are they trying present some of these objects as creepy, i think people forget that michael has always had children over his ranch and has had his own children now for over 12years, like most parents he wants to shower his children with everything that makes childhood great and magical.
if my grandma had those statues of children outside her house they would be seen as sweet not creepy, if these objects where a womans i imagine that the tag of "creepy" just wouldnt exist

Wow, what a horribly done video. Couldn't you take an hour out of your busy schedule to even balance the audio? And what was with the stupid lens you kept taking on and off. Was that supposed to be mesmerizing or cute or what? Do please return to film school, or maybe enroll at one.

Genius says:

3 famous died not 2, does anyone read the paper?!? Back in early childhood right before MJ started music, he didn't have very many people to talk to since all of the trouble he's been going through in life. MJ focused on music then his family even when he couldn't take it anymore from all the trouble that his parents been through, he thought making music could lead him to a better life and to show the world who he really is. Moving to Neverlands was a perfect place to get away from the other world that he has been facing and had all the time to be left alone and living in a peaceful world in Neverlands where he won't be stalked and for other personal reasons. Everyone should just drop all of the trash talk and just understand how MJ fought through this horrible matter. Next time don't beat everything you read in the magazines. MJ lives on!
