22-Year-Old Driver Pronounced Dead after Multi-Vehicle Collision near Old Lakeville Road

PETALUMA, CA (April 29, 2024) – One unidentified man died Tuesday afternoon, in a multi-car crash on Lakeville Highway.
At approximately 2:20 p.m. on April 16th, police officers arrived at the scene on the southbound lanes of the freeway, just south of Old Lakeville Road No.3. According to investigators, a 22-year-old man was driving a Toyota Camry northbound and failed to decelerate at a stop. In an attempt to avoid colliding with the vehicles ahead, the Camry swerved left and collided with the rear of a Nissan. Subsequently, the Camry overturned onto the southbound lanes, where it collided head-on with a Chevrolet Silverado. Additionally, the Nissan struck a nearby Ford Fusion. The male driver of the Camry succumbed to his injuries at the scene, although his identity has not been disclosed by the authorities. Meanwhile, emergency medical services transported three passengers from the Nissan to Petaluma Valley Hospital for treatment of minor injuries.
