Unidentified Man Fatally Injured in Pedestrian Crash near Gypsum Canyon Road
YORBA LINDA, CA (April 18, 2024) – One man died early Monday morning in a pedestrian crash on westbound 91 Freeway. The incident occurred around 12:20 a.m., just east of Gypsum Canyon Road on April 1st. Authorities stated that a pedestrian was struck by a vehicle while standing on the lanes of the Riverside (91) Freeway in the Yorba Linda area. It is suspected that the pedestrian may have been trying to repair a broken-down vehicle when another vehicle collided with him. Witnesses reported seeing a red sedan parked on the right shoulder, with a male attempting to signal vehicles to stop in the No. 2 and No. 3 lanes. At 12:37 a.m., California Highway Patrol officers closed all westbound lanes except for the HOV lanes for clearing operations. The circumstances leading up to the incident remain unknown at this time.
